Application Process

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants must be native or near-native speakers of English. Applicants must have an MA in TESOL / Applied Linguistics and ideally 3+ years experience after the MA in teaching EFL at tertiary institutions, preferably in the Arab world. PhD holders in TESOL/Applied Linguistics are also encouraged to apply.

SALARY 

Competitive, monthly tax-free starting salary (free of local taxes) commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience: the salary range is 10,000-25,000 Saudi Riyals (2,717-6,667 US$).

Initial contracts are for one year and are renewable at two year increments thereafter.

BENEFITS

Housing: MA holders receive an annual housing allowance of SR 17,000, whereas PhD holders receive SR 25,000.
 

Furniture Allowance: All employees receive a one-time furniture allowance. MA holders receive a SR 8,500, whereas PhD holders receive SR 12,500 IF THEY HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY WORKED AND RECEIVED IT IN A GOVERNMENT INSTITUTION IN THE KINGDOM.
 

Round-Trip Tickets: All employees are eligible for a maximum of 4-round-trip air tickets: candidate, spouse and 2 dependent children below the age of 18.
 

End-of-Service Gratuity: Employees will be paid a half month's salary for each of the first five years of employment and a month's salary after five years.
 

Additional Remunerations: Employees may receive extra earning in the summer session or through cooperation with programs provided by the Deanship of Parallel and Continuing Education, upon the approval of the ELC.
 

Vacation: All faculty receive a 60-day paid vacation, however their leave is determined by the academic calendar of Taibah University. In addition, all formal and national vacations are paid (Eid Al-Fitr and Al-Adh'ha), however those who wish to leave the country during these paid holidays must apply for visas in advance, which are mostly granted upon the approval of the Deanery of Faculty and Staff Affairs.
 

Health Care: Taibah employees and all members of their families are eligible for free treatment in the public governmental health facilities and available medical care facilities in Taibah- Medical .
 

Children's Educational Allowance: Faculty are eligible to receive a compensation up to SR25,000 for their children's education provided that their children are dependent, studying in the Kingdom, and CAN NOT be admitted in any of the public schools available (Preschool Programs DO NOT Apply).
 

Recreational Facilities: Faculty members have free access to all available sports, exercise, and recreational facilities on the main and satellite campuses of Taibah .

TERMS & WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Hiring: ALL faculty and staff at Taibah University are hired in accordance with employment laws and regulations set forth by the Saudi Government.
 

Academic Calendar: Two major semesters and a summer semester, if need be.

Working Hours: The working week is Saturday to Wednesday. All ELC faculty are required to work 40 hours a week (20 teaching and 15 office hours & administrative duties) according to national and university rules and regulations of employment.
